Beatrice Tonhodzayi is a Zimbabwean award-winning journalist, communications strategist, and seasoned public relations professional. Senior Partner – Public Relations - she brings decades of expertise in media, corporate affairs, and stakeholder engagement.
Her career spans influential roles in journalism, corporate communications, and the NGO sector, making her one of Zimbabwe’s most respected voices in public relations and media advocacy.
Career Highlights:
Media & Journalism: Began her career at The Herald before moving to Star FM at its inception in 2012, where she headed News and Current Affairs. As a Senior Health Reporter, she launched the acclaimed weekly column Let’s Talk About AIDS, earning the prestigious Auxillia Chimusoro Award for her dedication to health communication.
Corporate Leadership: Appointed Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Manager for Zimpapers in 2016, where she oversaw strategic communications and brand positioning for one of Zimbabwe’s largest media houses.
Board Service: Served as Vice-Chairperson of the National Aids Council (NAC) board, contributing to national health policy oversight. She has also served on the Zimparks Board, and was appointed to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) Board in 2022.
NGO & Development Work: Worked with SAfAIDS as a Programme Officer responsible for media, and contributed extensively to HIV programming and training in the NGO sector.
Awards & Recognition: 2017 Megafast Outstanding Public Relations Leader of the Year Award, 2018 Total Media Recognition – Named among the Top 20 Successful Zimbabwean Women in Business and Marketing.
